The only Church of Ireland managed School in the group of parishes and indeed in the Diocese of Clonfert is located in Aughrim, within the grounds of the Rectory. This small school has a tradition of excellent education with a low teacher pupil ratio, however at present numbers are very low and new students are urgently required to ensure a continuation of tradition in this place of learning.
The historic village of Aughrim Co. Galway is the location of the multi-denominational Glebe School for many years. Since 1988 the school has been located in the present location. Secluded private scenic grounds adjacent to the Church of Ireland Holy Trinity Church and beside the grounds of the Rectory.
A new classroom was completed in 2009, under the construction of Vincent Costelloe.
Principal Lisa tells us that the School is a single teacher multi-denominational school with the opportunity for a low teacher/student ratio. There is also a learning support teacher. It is primarily a place of personal development where students pursue their studies and acquire many skills.
